Lone Workers and Remote Workers

Lone workers and remote workers face any number of risks due to working alone. These risks can include abduction & injury during work. Employers have a duty of care to each employee to ensure their health and safety during the performance of their work, as well as too and from a place of work. Globetrotter SOS can help in providing a service which goes a long way to mitigating the risks to employees whilst working alone or remotely.

Our simple service can be deployed using existing company provided Smartphones, allowing the employee to either check in as part of standard operating procedures by using the “Here I Am” feature, which informs colleagues and employers of their whereabouts or by using the SOS feature to alert our 24 x7 help desk of a dangerous situation, who can then act to mitigate the risk.

A typical application would be an Estate Agent or Care Worker who has to go to appointments late in the evening or in potentially dangerous areas. Before entering a building, the “Here I am” function is enabled to send a signal to a fellow employee or Manager. After an agreed timeframe, should the signal not be repeated, a “where are you” request could be initiated. If on no reply, then emergency services can be alerted to assist.

For remote workers like Tree Surgeons etc, a set “check in” time could be agreed; if this is not met a remote request could be sent, again with a pre-determined routine to establish all is well.

In both cases, an SOS could be triggered for any immediate situation or danger.
